Technical facilities for surgery

The Essonne Clinic

The Clinique de l'Essonne has a first-class technical platform. Its modern, functional architecture and high-tech equipment ensure that surgical and medical activities are carried out in an optimal, coordinated manner.

The operating theatre

The operating theatre takes care of the patient through :

  • Preparing the patient for surgery;
  • Performing anaesthesia-intensive care and surgical procedures;
  • Post-operation monitoring until vital functions are restored;
  • Preparing operations: staff, premises, materials and equipment;
  • Storage, preparation and dispensing of sterile medical devices (SMD) and medicines required for the operation;
  • Risk management (practices, equipment, environment, etc.).

The Clinique de l'Essonne has an operating theatre divided into 4 distinct areas:

  • A general block with 6 operating theatres and a dedicated sspi with 11 workstations
  • A 3-room gastroenterology unit with a dedicated 5-station sspi
  • An ophthalmology unit with 2 rooms and a dedicated sspi with 2 workstations
  • An obstetrics unit with a caesarean section room and 3 delivery rooms

The obstetrics unit

The obstetrical unit comprises 3 delivery rooms, 1 caesarean section room, 1 neonatal intensive care room and 1 pre-labour room. It is designed to respect the physiology of pregnancy and childbirth.

Gynaecologists-obstetricians, anaesthetists-resuscitators, paediatricians and midwives work around the clock in an environment that meets safety requirements and current scientific recommendations. For greater comfort, the obstetric unit is located on the same level as the maternity ward.

Central sterilisation

The central sterilisation unit is responsible for all the stages involved in ensuring that equipment is sterilised in accordance with the standards laid down by the Ministry of Health. This unit was renovated in 2010.

The post-interventional monitoring room in the general operating theatre (SSPI)

The post-interventional monitoring room, more commonly known as the "recovery room", has 11 stations and enables patients to be monitored until their vital functions have been fully restored.
