Orthopaedic surgery

Orthopaedics is a surgical speciality practised by an orthopaedic surgeon. It involves the treatment of all disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, muscles, tendons and nerves). It includes surgical treatment of disorders of the upper limbs (shoulder, elbow and hand), lower limbs (hip, knee and foot) and spine.

Clinique de l'Essonne has an orthopaedic consultation centre staffed by five orthopaedic surgeons.

Your orthopaedic surgery consultation

To help you prepare for your consultation , please bring any recent medical documents you may have with you.

If you decide to undergo surgery, at the end of your consultation with your surgeon :

• the secretary will give you a pre-admission file that you will need to read and complete.
• Make an appointment with the anaesthesia secretariat for your anaesthesia consultation at least 48 hours before your operation.
